Follow the light. Ask what direction the ceremony site faces and what time the sun sets on your date. West-facing ceremonies within the last hour of daylight consistently produce the most flattering photographs.
Build in buffer time. Beach venues in La Jolla and Coronado can add twenty minutes of traffic on summer weekends. A quiet fifteen-minute buffer between events keeps the day — and the pictures — feeling calm.
Scout your rain plan. Even in San Diego, May gray and June gloom are real. Before booking, ask to see the venue's indoor ceremony backup and check whether it has natural light.
Match the venue to your story. The prettiest venue in someone else's photos isn't automatically the right one for you. Pick the place that reflects how you want the day to feel — the pictures follow from there.
